Walter Brocato, a Texas Condemnation Attorney, has practiced eminent domain and inverse condemnation law for over 34 years.

When the State of Texas or TxDOT is seeking to condemn your property, Walter Brocato is here to help.

Texas law authorizes the State to "take" or condemn property using "eminent domain." In this process,
however, you have rights - including the right to fair compensation for your property rights.

About

In every eminent domain lawsuit, there will be questions such as:

?

Are you getting the most for your property rights under the specialized rules for condemnation cases?

?

Is TXDOT's highway project impairing access to your property?

?

Is TXDOT's project damaging your remaining property in other ways?

Walter Brocato can help you find the answer to
these questions and more.

Walter Brocato is the head of the Eminent Domain section of McLeod, Alexander, Powel & Apffel, P.C. ("MAPA") in Galveston, Texas. MAPA descends from the first law license granted when Texas became a State and continues to represent clients across the State.

Mr. Brocato currently represents Property Owners in condemnation cases against the Texas Department of Transportation ("TxDOT"). Previously, he served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas for 26 years representing the State and TxDOT and handling hundreds of eminent domain lawsuits for highway construction and expansion across the State of Texas. As a result, he knows this process and has seen it unfold hundreds of times. During his time with the State, Mr. Brocato worked with many appraisers, land planners, cost estimators, architects, and engineers to resolve hundreds of lawsuits along Texas highways across the State.

He now offers this depth of condemnation experience to assist you and other Property Owners in your claims against TxDOT for just compensation.

Walter Brocato’s History

Walter Brocato began his career in condemnation law in 1990 working for his father, Anthony Brocato, who was a land and condemnation lawyer in Southeast Texas. Anthony Brocato gained his knowledge in land law from serving as the City Attorney of Beaumont in 1967-1968. Walter Brocato now carries that experience forward to help you in your condemnation claim.

Mr. Brocato now offers the services of his law firm to ensure that you are properly represented in this process so that Property Owners like you can use his experience to ensure you are getting what you are entitled to receive under Texas law, when the State and TxDOT use the power of eminent domain to condemn your property.
